The Zuurberg Mountain valleys near Addo Elephant National Park, Eastern Cape, South Africa form part of a malaria-free region with great natural bio-diversity that supports many animals. This region is close to Port Elizabeth, the capital of the Eastern Cape.
Elephant Safari Lodge is located in a fully fenced and game stocked conservancy near Addo Elephant National Park, Eastern Cape, South Africa. The resident Elephant were brought from the Knysna Elephant Park to their new bush home, a nurturing environment where they have developed strong bonds with their qualified handlers. Wildlife species in the conservancy include Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and Eland amongst other game as well as numerous exciting bird species.
Addo Elephant National Park conserves 5 out of 7 eco-regions in South Africa and supports one of the biggest Elephant populations on the planet. The Elephant is one of the Big Seven (including Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Southern Right Whale and Great White Shark) which are protected in the park and in a marine coastal reserve. From the biggest to the smallest, the park is also home to the unique flightless dung beetle. One of the world’s largest breeding colonies of Cape Gannet can be found on Bird Island.

Directions to Elephant Safari Lodge
By Car
From Port Elizabeth take the Motherwell Road to Addo (R335) 1.5 km (less than a mile) before the Addo Elephant National Park main gate turn left at the “Zuurberg” sign. The lodge is 33 km (21 miles) from this turn off.
Transfer and Fly-in Options
Road transfers are offered from Port Elizabeth Airport or Zuurberg to Elephant Safari Lodge. Air transfers can be arranged to the private landing strip at Elephant Safari Lodge from Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth.
