Tenuta Spring Grove Lodge offers malaria free accommodation on 2 000 hectares of private game reserve in the Eastern Cape, just 90 minutes north of Port Elizabeth.
The province of Eastern Cape, South Africa is Settler Country. Many pioneers in the early 1800s settled in this area, with descendants remaining today. Tenuta Spring Grove is located 20 minutes inland from the beautiful coastline with awesome views of indigenous bush and the river valley.
The reserve is located between the Kariega and Bushmans Rivers, which flow into the Indian Ocean. Stunning beaches, coves and walks are just 20 minutes away at Kenton-on-Sea. Going further up the coast are more beautiful beaches of South Africa and the town of Port Alfred.
River activities such as cruising, canoeing and fishing are popular in this area also deep-sea fishing. Tenuta Spring Grove is also convenient to Grahamstown, an historic settler town which hosts Rhodes University and an annual Arts Festival that draws many visitors every year over June / July.
Tenuta Spring Grove Lodge is a peaceful bush retreat, a relaxing space to fully appreciate such beautiful surroundings. The reserve has a variety of wildlife including Zebra, various antelope species both large and small such as Eland and Duiker, excellent birdlife including Eagles and sunbirds.
Guests can see larger animals and predators such as Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard on game drives held nearby or they can self-drive through the local National Park.
There are regular scheduled air flights to Port Elizabeth from other gateway cities in South Africa. Transfers can be arranged from the airport to the lodge.
For self-drive guests, Tenuta Spring Grove is easily accessible from Port Elizabeth; it is a 90 minute drive north along the N2 highway, turning right at Salem (just before Grahamstown) on to the R343 road toward Kenton-on-Sea.
